Starting from zero
I arrived in the UK at 15 as a foster child. I couldn't speak English, I had no money and no family to lean on. I grew up in a tough neighborhood and was living on my own by 16.
After university, things didn't get easier — I faced homelessness and real financial hardship. But I never stopped working towards something better.

The broke accountant
I became an accountant — overworked, underpaid and living paycheque to paycheque in a nine-bedroom shared house with my wife and our newborn baby.
That's when it hit me: a salary would never give my family real security. So I started a property business from a rented bedroom, with £500 and an old laptop my university gave me.

The breakthrough
For months I made 180 cold calls a day, seven days a week — and was turned down again and again. Then I tried something people called crazy: getting face to face with landlords instead of pitching over the phone.
It changed everything. I soon had more landlords than I could handle, built the fastest-growing rent-to-rent business in Wales, and reinvested the profits into a multi-million pound portfolio. My wife and I quit our jobs — and I ended up on BBC's Homes Under the Hammer.
